Adolescents' psychological dependence on pa-rents exists in two main forms - dependence proper and negativism. Both forms are caused by frustration of a person's need to realize their potential. Though commonly viewed as bipolar, dependence and independence are separate phenomena. Psychological dependence in adolescents has a negative effect on further development of personality.
