The article reconstructs one of significant, but now forgotten episodes from the early period of Soviet psychology - the First All-Union Congress on studying human behaviour (Leningrad, 1930). Analyzing the materials of the congress, the author describes the organization of the congress and the content of the discussion appraising its role in the history of national psychology.
