Shyness is analyzed in terms of M. I. Lisina's communication genesis concept. The results of longitudinal study carried out with children aged 3 through 7 have been offered. Shy children behavior peculiarities in preschoolers in various types of interaction with adults have been described, a correlation between shyness and the child's Self-image has been established.
