The article presents main topics and issues discussed by the author in the report he delivered at the last Session of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences (22nd of May). The chief thrust of both the report and the article is to outline the basic directions in the advancing of the scientific state and social efficiency of Soviet psychology, defectology, and age physiology.
