A phenomenon of activation of imitative activity in hypnosis
(RESUME)

Fifty experiments have been performed on ten 18-19 years old subjects with the view to study activation of imitative activity in hypnosis. Ideomotor components of suggested images have been electromyographically registered and their correlation with the vividity of images further established. The level of imitative activity, vividity of images, and intensity of the ideomotor manifestations have been shown to correlate with each other. It is suggested that proprioceptive afferentation exerts activating influence on all elements of the functional system.
