Characteristics of perception of the printed word in impulse lighting
(RESUME)

A study was conducted to discover the effect of impulse lighting on human perception of words of general knowledge. Impulse lighting had frequency characteristics analogous to known kinds of the brain's bioelectric activity. The study revealed changes in emotional perception of words in different experimental conditions, which allowed the author to formulate a theory on mechanisms responsible for the described effect.
