Meaning, adjustment and self-determination in adolescents
(RESUME)

Within the framework of treating personality development as development of self-determination mechanisms with the final stage in the "adolescence crisis", four patterns of personality development were previously discovered in adolescents: the autonomous, the impulsive, the conformist and the symbiotic. In a new study cluster analysis was used to reproduce this empirical typology and establish differences in life meaning and maladjustment problems in adolescents belonging to different developmental types. The authors also discuss synchronicity and diachronicity of the revealed patterns.
