The cultural historical approach to correction of post-traumatic regression. On the material of psychological counseling in Beslan (2004-2006)
(RESUME)

The cultural historical approach to child therapy and psychological correction being developed by the authors, involves orientation towards general laws of psychological development. Accordingly, age regression is regarded in connection with disintegration of the system of the child's relations with society which constitute the social situation of development. The authors put forward a scheme of psychological correction based on creating a series of substitutive situations which enable the child to rebuild the system of relations appropriate to the child's age, i.e. restore a normal developmental situation. The authors argue that restoration of an action destroyed as a result of post-traumatic regression, abides by the same laws as initial formation of the action. It occurs due to application of a psychological tool which is offered by the adult and is later acquired (internalized) by the child.
