The paper presents findings of an empirical study of psychological adjustment in students studying in new socio-cultural conditions in universities abroad. As it turns out, adjustment processes take place not only in long-term, but also in short-term contacts with a new socio-cultural environment. The study also revealed how cultural shock manifests itself and how students of national and foreign universities overcome it.
