(RESUME)

On the example of critical situations characteristic of the development of psychological diagnostics between the fifties and the seventies of the XX century the authors argue the necessity of a differential psychological approach to restructuring of its theoretical foundations and methodology. The authors also suggest a methodology for examining the content of diagnostic techniques devised for studying individual development of abilities, as well as a new criterion for diagnosis the degree of subjective sensitivity to meaningful aspects of the content and structure of the task.
