The authors suggest a procedure for estimating balance of genetic and environment influences on psychological characteristics based on the methods of the information theory, demonstrating its features and advantages by means of analyzing longitudinal data on twin intelligence. The findings are compared to similar data obtained by means of traditional factor analysis, revealing correlation between conclusions obtained with the help of the two approaches.
