Specificity of the intuitive process of solving indeterminate tasks
(RESUME)

Subjects from two groups of senior school students aged 14-16 with average or above average indices of the psychometric intellect and varying personality characteristics (including intuition) were given indeterminate tasks of various types. The data show that intuition only manifests itself in certain types of tasks. The intuitive process is integrated and generalized, and the unknown quantity is discovered as a whole, not constructed from isolated elements of present conditions. The author defines structural characteristics of tasks requiring participation of intuition.
