Development of self-awareness: The temporal aspect
(RESUME)

The paper discusses empirical notions of the nature and development of self-awareness and its structural components over time, suggesting that at different stages of ontogenesis self-awareness manifests itself as self-cognition, attitude to self, and self-regulation. Ontogenetically self-awareness emerges later than consciousness and its temporal aspect takes the form of "experiencing self in a time of life".
