Manifestations of gender differences in creative activity
(RESUME)

A study was conducted to investigate changeability of indices of verbal and figurative creativity with respect to sex and manifestation of feminine or masculine features, as well as intellect and inner motivation (interest in the task) in students of a technological university. It was found that high originality of creative thinking in an experimental situation is accompanied by simultaneous increasing of both femininity and masculinity. Positive correlation was discovered between creativity, intellect and interest in the task being performed. The masculinity index was found to correlate with intellect, and the femininity one - with inner motivation. The findings suggest that development of intellect is likely to promote creativity in women, while in men a similar effect can be achieved through development of feminine features including intuition.
