Age dynamics of visual perception of perspective
(RESUME)

The authors have developed two techniques for researching perception of perspective in children: analysis of the correlation of cylinder heights in Silver's drawing test (SDT) and choice of perspective from a number of alternatives. It has been discovered that backward perspective dominates in picturing the third dimension in the pre-school age. Transition to linear perspective which dominates in adulthood takes place gradually with age. Visual disorders in children increase the tendency towards linear perspective, while speech disorders - towards backward perspective.
