Psychology of experiencing in the context of a cultural historical typology
(RESUME)

Experiencing is treated as an activity of resructuring the psychological world aimed at establishing a meaningful correlation between consciousness and existence. Experiencing has formal (structural) and content aspects. Cultural historical analysis of its formal aspects allows the investigator to distinguish two different forms of experiencing: the discursive, linked to abstract thinking and aimed at discovering causal relations, and the mythological, linked to the "primeval" system of semantization. Within the mythological form of experiencing, when causal relations are not established and time is not perceived as linear and historical, the child transforms the objective situation to fit into his own mythological picture of the world.
