The author presents his own understanding of leading activity of modern adolescents. It is shown to be playing by type, socially meaningful by content and socially modeling by form. These characteristics of adolescents' leading activity correspond to its criteria outlined in the latest V.V. Davydov's works. Principal differences of playing activity in preschoolers and in adolescents are discussed.
