The paper analyzes the reasons why collaboration of two outstanding psychologists - L.S.Vygotsky and A.R.Luria - proved to be a historic event, a turning point of sorts in the development of psychological science, and also which mutually complementary characteristics of the epoch and their creative styles and motives ensured fruitfulness of their union.
