(RESUME)

The author analyzes the general condition of national psychology in the Soviet time and nowadays pointing out the actuality of D.B. Elkonin's approach to the interrelation of the mental and the emotional, his views on the combined action and the role of the sign in child development. The author supposes that those views could serve as a basis for development of the cultural historical approach in therapy and counseling.
