On the basis of D.B. Elkonin's scientific diaries the author discusses the role of D.B Elkonin's analysis of cultural historical psychology as a non-classical methodology of modern cognition, revealing ideological unity of different lines of development of cultural historical psychology. Special attention is paid to D.B. Elkonin's views on psychology of personality, as well as to the role of his works in overcoming a global educational crisis.
