Correlation of an individual's creative abilities and his tendency to forming a gestalt of the perception field has been established in an experimental study of mechanisms of integral perception. People engaged in creative activity were predominant among the subjects capable of overcoming situational cohesion of the optical field and transforming it into a new gestalt. In ontogenesis children's capacity for integral perception develops in a wave-like manner with a peak at the age of 10- 11 and a hollow at the age of 12-13.
