The article is a survey of A.N. Leontiev's historical works. The author analyzes A.N. Leontiev's views on the history of psychology, on the emergence, development and achievements of Soviet psychology, reproduces his analysis of L.S. Vygosky's theory, his criticism of S.L. Rubinstein's and P.Ya. Galperin's conceptions in comparison with his own approach.
