(RESUME)

The article looks at P.Ya. Galperin's stand in the discussion of the role of individual differences in education. In the experimental study described in the article Galperin's method of stage-by-stage formation of mental actions and notions was used as a means of discovering characteristics of cognition and learning in children with expressed impulsiveness and anxiety. Experimental findings are interpreted with the view of individualization in instruction.
