The article looks at the dynamics of hemispheric interaction and changes in the process of normal ageing concluding that ageing brings about changes in the profile of lateral organization of mental functions, involution of the cognitive functions of the right hemisphere. At the same time the role of the left hemisphere increases which is reflected in the form of "left hemisphere" strategies aimed at compensating old age limitations. The findings are interpreted in the context of A.R. Luria's principle of dynamics in the localization of psychological functions.
