(RESUME)

The author looks at a three-stage model of the development of national neuropsychology from the point of view of A.R. Luria's approach to it. The approach is based on seeking causes of psychological malfunctions and means of their compensation in the history of culture and social relations. The article de-scribes development of A.R. Luria's ideas in studying hemispheric interaction, child neuropsychology, mediation in neuropsychological rehabilitation, analysis of the subjective content of mental functions which constitutes the foundation of modern neuropsychology of personality, communication and individual differences.
