The article states the necessity of studying variability, diversity and specificity of individual ways of children's normative development in ontogenesis suggesting that differential developmental psychology be singled out as a special branch of developmental psychology. The author argues the necessity of a typological analysis of dynamics characterizing individual peculiarities of psychological development on the basis of the main psychological new formations of successive developmental stages.
