Dynamics of a woman's psychological state during pregnancy and after giving birth
(RESUME)

The study focuses on the changes of a woman's mental state during pregnancy and the development of dyadic relations between the mother and the child after birth. 51 women of child-bearing age were observed throughout pregnancy and after giving birth. Observation after childbirth revealed categories of women a) pre-pared for maternity, b) unprepared for maternity. The study also revealed three types of experiencing pregnancy, three types of maternal attitude to the child, their interrelation and correlation with the child's value for the mother (four types of value). The paper also discusses techniques for diagnosing the child's value, type of experiencing pregnancy, type of maternal attitude, changes of these parameters throughout pregnancy.
