The paper is devoted to the current state and prospects of preventive psychology in education. The main problems of preventive psychology are revealed on the basis of the analysis of national and international publications from medicine, pedagogy, psychology. The author identifies preventive psychology as a system-forming activity of practical psychology and emphasizes the fact that Russia has the necessary resources for creating a state system of preventive psychology in education. The paper contains data on the achievements of preventive psychology in the educational system of the Samara-Region.
