Influence of social environment in the development of self-esteem in pre-schoolers
(RESUME)

Study results suggest the conclusion that the child's socially significant environment does not fully satisfy the needs meaningful for the development of adequate self-esteem in the pre-school period of childhood. For instance, the system of appraisal existing in the child's closest social milieu falls short of educational psychological standards: on the one hand it ignores individual and age-group specific need of the child to be appraised by other people, on the other - it conflicts with pedagogical appraisal aimed at adequate development of the child's personality.
