Subject of activity in ontogenesis
(RESUME)

The paper puts forward a new understanding of the subject (child) as the "author" of the activity involved in a mental communion with another person (adult). The subject of activity performs special actions aimed at developing (planning and building) an activity (subject actions) which makes him the subject of self-determination. The theory is illustrated by examples involving children of different ages as well as by historical examples.
