Hemispheric asymmetry in processing of emotional information: Influence of extraversion and neurotizm
(RESUME)

Influence of brain hemispheric asymmetry and personality peculiarities (extraversion and neurotizm) on detection of words differing in emotional valence has been studied. Subject under test had to detect positive, negative and neutral words, shown in right and left vision sectors on the background of pseudowords in paradigm of "lexical solution". Neutral words are better detected when presented into left hemisphere, while negative ones - into right hemisphere. Persons with high indices on neurotizm scale have high sensibility to information addressed to right brain hemisphere, while emotionally stable subjects - to the left one. Influence of extraversion factor on the dependent variables has not been revealed.
