Learning as a productive conflict
(RESUME)

Conflict is viewed as a necessary condition and mechanism of individual cultural development. Mono-subject approach to conflict as phenomenon as well as notion is obviously insufficient. Conversation of children (aged 9-11) with each other and experimentator in tests modelling discussion situation have shown that communication concerning school subjects always has conflict character. Conflict factors differ in object of communication, direction and character of action as well as in characteristics of task being solved.
