Emotional components of self-reports and of inter-personal judgements
(RESUME)

A hypothesis has been experimentally tested and proyed that both judgements concerning co-variation of personality traits and values of empirical correlation of self-appraisals by these traits can be represented as functions of the distance between them on the social desirability scale. A conclusion is made that it is hardly sensible to look into the self-report data (personality questionaries, attitute scales, etc.) for objective information about behavior, however it can be a rich and reliable source of information concerninng subjective reality of the respondents.
